MIZSEI SIGNATURE FILTER

EARTH-FRIENDLY PURIFYING FILTER

Our signature MIZSEI filters are constructed with 2 key materials. We use “coconut shell activated charcoal” to effectively absorb more harmful substances in water than any other type of activated charcoal. We combine that with “activated carbon fiber” which speeds up the filtering process.  Coconut shell activated charcoal is created with recycled coconut shells from South East Asia. We use the shells which are typically thrown away after the coconut juice and meat are taken out to make other consumer products.

MAKING THE MIZSEI FILTER

1. Coconut Harvest

Coconuts are harvested for food production and other products. One of the byproducts that is usually discarded as waste is the hard inner shell of the coconut.

2. Preparation

We process coconuts separating the husk, shell and coconut meat. The shells with their high carbon content are what we use for our charcoal.

3. Carbonization

Coconut shells are heated in a low oxygen environment to remove and burn off water and volatile compounds to create char or carbonized coconut shell.

4. Activation

The char is activated in an oxygen free furnace by the use of steam at approximately 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. This activation process changes the physical structure of the char by dramatically increasing its porous nature and ability to absorb toxins.

5. Granulation

Coconut char pieces are crushed to a granule size of 25-30 microns to further increase their absorption qualities.

6. Finished Filter

Our proprietary filter is then assembled into a slim, lightweight cartridge that fits easily inside the shower head handle.
